At the mention of "Tibet", what are we thinking of??  Mysterious? Religious? Dalai Lama?  Politics?  OK.  Politics and religion aside, Tibet is beautful.  Though if you plan on going, better be prepared with medication for high-altitude sickness.  Most of Tibet is over 3,000 meters above sea level, and the famed Potola Palace sits close to 4,000 meters above sea level. 

Once inside the temple, visitors are awed by the tombs for the previous Dalai Lamas (except for DL#14, since he's alive).  I was told by our tour guide that the costs of the tombs combined rivals the investment to build up the city of Shanghai.  Which makes me wonder....so the Tibetan gave all to their supreme being, while they continue to live in poverty!!
